Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The special development of the materials and technologies used today in oral medicine creates a series of new challenges both for the researchers in this field, but also for the dental practitioners. One of the directions of these new challenges is to identify personalized solutions for the variety of the morphological substrate instead of trying to adapt the morphological substrate to one of the standard solutions. The emergence of digital technologies offers special opportunities to these challenges and also offers the technological support to obtain restorations with an increased level of customization. However, there still remains a number of questions and issues related to the evaluation and approval of personalized solutions before their actual use on the patient and the costs that may be involved.

This Special Issue seeks research articles but also review articles and theoretical approaches. They should highlight the individualization possibilities of the treatments used in oral medicine, to evaluate the clinical results observed, the benefits and disadvantages noticed on the directions where personalized treatments could be used so far, the identification of new directions of personalization for the oral medicine area, but also the challenges they can raise before their use in clinical activity.

Of particular interest are the interdisciplinary studies, which have the capacity to implement into oral medicine existing technological advances.
