Special Issue Information

This Special Issue on “Aeroservoelastic Control” targets the critical field of aeroservoelastic (ASE) analysis, which explores the complex interplay between aerodynamic forces, structural deformation, vibration, and control system impacts on aeroelastic frameworks. Such analyses are pivotal for the design of contemporary aircraft and the development of advanced flight control systems (FCSs), aiming to mitigate dynamic instabilities like flutter and enhance gust load alleviation for superior ride quality. This Special Issue serves as a platform for researchers and practitioners to share their latest advancements in ASE control.

We cordially invite submissions of original research articles, review papers, and short communications that align with the theme of this Special Issue, including submissions on a broad spectrum of ASE control-related topics including, but not limited to:

  • The development and application of both linear and nonlinear aeroservoelastic models;
  • Controller design seeking to realize aeroservoelastic control;
  • Advanced computational techniques and simulations aimed at enhancing aeroelastic control;
  • Strategies for aeroservoelastic control dedicated to flutter suppression and gust load mitigation;
  • The utilization and performance assessment of novel or smart materials in aeroservoelastic frameworks;
  • Comprehensive design and analysis of actuators, including evaluations of their effectiveness in aeroservoelastic control;
  • Optimization approaches to refine aeroelastic control mechanisms.

This initiative is designed to gather and disseminate recent research and advancement in aeroservoelastic control, aiming to contribute significantly to the field. You are also welcome to propose other topics within the area of aeroservoelastic control.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Aerospace is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
