Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Skin grafting remains the gold standard to repair wounds after massive skin loss and despite 5 decades of research, little alternative treatment option is available for these patients. Skin tissue engineering can offer wound repair with minimal donor site. This Special Issue is aimed to explore the latest research and development in temporary and permanent skin substitutes based on cell types, cell source, factors and biomaterials. The latest technology development in 3D printing and automation and their translation to clinics is also examined.
