Dear Colleagues,
Metal oxide nanoparticles exhibit special structures with improved optical and electronic properties, and can form composite materials with other compounds. For example, metal oxide–polymer or biomolecules nanocomposites also exhibit good electrical and optical properties and are of great interest for researchers. These hybrid materials by combining specific properties were used for a wide range of applications in the fields of solar cells, biosensing devices, optoelectronic packaging, useful in biology and biomedical applications for in vivo and in vitro studies, etc. Therefore, for the understanding of physico-chemical phenomena, modeling techniques can be used to solve the structures and reactivity of molecular and supramolecular systems, interactions between molecules or their interactions with catalytic surfaces, etc.
The aim of this Special Issue is to publish high quality research papers addressing the current and future advances on the achievement, characterization and application in areas of interest of the metal oxide nanoparticles, metal oxide–polymeror biomolecules nanocomposites.
In particular, the topics of interest for this Special Issue include, but are not limited to:
- Molecular level information about the number of active surface sites and reactivity per site.
- Studies to understand the interaction mechanisms and identify the functionality of inorganic binding biomolecules
- Biofunctional nanostructured materials for biosensing devices, biology and biomedical applications
