Journal of Clinical Medicine 2024 Editorial Board Meeting of the Section “Epidemiology & Public Health” Held on 6 March 2024

The Journal of Clinical Medicine (JCM, ISSN: 2077-0383) held an Editorial Board meeting for the Section “Epidemiology & Public Health” on 6 March 2024. We appreciate the Section Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Francisco Guillen-Grima, for hosting this meeting; four Editorial Board Members were in attendance.

The meeting started with a presentation about the development of the journal as well as the Section “Epidemiology & Public Health”, with the following information being presented:

  • Journal history, publication statistics, distribution of scholars (2018–2023), the benefits of open access, journal awards, conference sponsorship, and promotion on social media;
  • Geographical distribution of the Section’s Editorial Board Members, decision-making statistics, and Section statistics.

The meeting mainly discussed the Section scope, popular topics (such as AI and machine learning in medicine), feature paper contributions and invitations by the Editorial Board Members, the direction of article types, social media promotion, and conference suggestions.

Based on the discussion, the journal plans to update the Section webpage (in progress), fortify feature paper contributions from the Editorial Board Members, keep an eye on popular topics and research fronts, be more present at conferences (such as the European Public Health Association Conference, etc.), and try different social media platforms (YouTube, etc.) to strengthen journal promotion.

We thank every Editorial Board Member and the academics for their support. We look forward to receiving more suggestions to continue our progress together.
