Sustainability 2964246: Distribution pattern of species richness of endemic genera in Mountainous Areas of Southwest China and its influencing factors

Dear authors,

After reviewing the manuscript, I realized that this work presents an up-dated assessment of pattern of species richness distribution of endemic plants China's Southwest mountainous region. They authors provided a valuable data of this hotspot of biodiversity, and more specifically how different parameters such as precipitation, seasonality and that diurnal mean temperature range had significant effects on species richness.

The main text is well organized and properly written in English. All figures and tables and graphics have good quality, highlighting the graphics of both figures 2 and 3. The authors should carry out some minor changes, mainly typos, all of them marked in the PDF file, and pay attention to the reference list, as I found some mistakes (see also the attached PDF).

All the best.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Very interesting research article explained well.

Just one question, the authors has discussed how the human interference can disturb the biodiversity. Is there any solution for that. For example, if it can be conserved and no human population can disturb that.

I think, a solution to this problem would add substantial benefits to this study. Furthermore, this model can be used for future to save the flora and fauna.

Line 113: Figure 1 resolution is very low, please include a higher resolution figure

Line 135: use full details of your software something like this

The ArcGIS version 10.8 (ESRI. ArcGIS Desktop: Release 10. Redlands, CA: Environmental Systems Research Institute. 2011)

Line 136: Table 1: the table should be in a text format, not a picture! (Apply for all similar tables)

Line 179: All genera and species should be in italic text format for the entire manuscript

Line 181: also in Figure 2, All genera and species should be in italic text format

Line 205: Figure 5: change the axis text's color into dark black instead of gray. And add space after Ig on the y-axis.

Line 245: move the figure 6 after the paragraph where is it mentioned

Line 271: move the figure 7 after the paragraph where is it mentioned

Line 295: move the figure 8 after the paragraph where is it mentioned

Line 304: "Tibet is more than 4,000 meters" As you added a comma to format four thousand, it will be better to follow the same formatting for all numbers in your manuscript.

Line 437: "GLOBAL ECOL BIOGEOGR" change the format.

Line 520: " MORELLATO" change the format.

Comments on the Quality of English Language

please use the same words as your manuscript contains "hot spot", "hotspot", and "hot-spot"

Be sure that all Latin names for genus and species are in italic format

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

My comments are restricted to presentation of the paper graphics. All numerals and letters on the images are too small and are very unfriendly for potential readers. The images should be adjusted according to this statement.

Comments on the Quality of English Language

Up to my test, English is more or less ok, but concerning different linguistic styles of recent journals, the MDPIs should select the language style according to their own standards.
