Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to announce the initiation of a thought-provoking Special Issue entitled “Novel Carriers for Drug Delivery and Brain Disease Treatment across the Blood–Brain Barrier”. The blood–brain barrier (BBB) poses a formidable challenge in drug delivery to the central nervous system (CNS), necessitating innovative approaches to overcome its restrictive nature. Our focus is shedding light on the latest advancements in BBB drug delivery methodologies and their applications in treating a spectrum of CNS disorders, including neurodegenerative diseases, brain cancers, and genetic disorders. In this Special Issue, we aim to provide a comprehensive platform to showcase recent breakthroughs and emerging trends in BBB drug delivery. We invite contributions spanning a wide array of topics, including but not limited to carrier-mediated transport, receptor-mediated transcytosis, lipid-raft-mediated transcytosis, and other innovative approaches. Manuscripts exploring the design, synthesis, characterization, and preclinical/clinical evaluation of novel drug carriers for BBB penetration are highly encouraged.
Through collaborative efforts and interdisciplinary insights, we aim to translate cutting-edge research into transformative therapies, ultimately reshaping the landscape of brain disease treatment. We look forward to your valuable contributions, which will undoubtedly enrich the discourse in this field toward new advancements and innovation.
