Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper is well-written and displays originality. The introduction offers a thorough explanation of the research background, encompassing energy resources such as BESS, Fuel Cells, PV sources, thermoelectric generators, and Nuclear Power. The MVDC system and methodology are also clearly described. Regarding the simulation results, I have a minor comment: could experimental results be provided to support your method?

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper provides a review of the MVDC system for large spacecrafts and propulsion systems. In general, the review is comprehensive, but I have following comments that could help improve the paper’s quality.

11)      The title of Section III (Proposed Medium Voltage DC (MVDC) System for Large Spacecrafts) should be changed, maybe “current MVDC system for xxx” which could be better for a review paper.

22)      The expression of “In order to validate the effectiveness of the proposed UDE control algorithms different simulation studies have been conducted” should also be modified. The UDE control algorithm is not proposed in this paper.

33)      Why only UDE control method is studied, how about other methods? Can the authors clarify it in the simulation studies?

44)      Which software is used in the simulation part? The authors should include it. In addition, it would be better to summarize all the parameters in a table.

55)      In addition to Refs [111 - 117], there are also some other review papers discussing DC/DC converters like:

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper provides a comprehensive on possible power sources for NASA Mars missions. Some analysis results are also provided. It is valuable to be published in this journal. However, I did not find the authors discuss the efficiency for high voltage DC-DC converters and lifetimes. It will be great if authors provide such brief information.
