41st European Geopark Network Coordination Committee Meeting

The European Geoparks Network (EGN) was established in June 2000 by four Geoparks. Today EGN includes 70 geoparks from 23 different European countries. Main objective of the cooperation between Geoparks is the protection of geological heritage and the promotion of sustainable development of their territories in Europe. The EGN coordintaion committee (CC) comprises the 2 official nominated representatives of each Geopark, GGN Individual members from Europe plus the representative of UNESCO, IUGS and IUCN. The CC meets regularly, at least twice a year, each time hosted in a different Geopark, mainly to discuss the Network’s progress and to coordinate joint programmes and activities between members.

The 41st European Geopark Network Coordination Committee Meeting will take place between 19th and 24th of March 2018 in the crossborder Karavanke/Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark, located between Slovenia and Austria.
