18–20 April 2018, Brighton, UK
4th International Symposium on Neglected Influenza Viruses

This meeting will retain the format, and build on the success of the previous NIV symposiums held in Atlanta 2015, Dublin 2013 and Florida in 2010. It will explore the latest data on surveillance and disease investigation, virus transmission and control, clinical and experimental virology, and emerging issues and new developments related to swine, equine, canine and other non-human/non-avian influenza viruses.

Goals and Objectives

To promote a transdisciplinary, coordinated 'One Health' approach to the control of influenza by integrating the scientific input from public health, veterinary health, environmental health, and basic science.

  • To share knowledge of swine, equine, canine and marine mammal and non-human/non-avian influenza viruses across continents and disciplines.
  • To promote interaction among scientists interested in non-human/non-avian influenza viruses whose work may not regularly receive international attention.
  • To explore the exploitation of data relating to the prevention, diagnosis, surveillance and control of influenza viruses in the protection of human and animal health.
