The work is well written and deals to an interesting problem in an inversion procedure.  The analysis is sound and the numerical examples well documented. The weak point is in the very short discussion (just 6 lines). The results presented deserve a much more longer discussion which along with the conlusions must give a summury of all the mathematical analysis presented. In addition some points with real data analysis will make the case stronger. I suggest a minor rivision.

Thank you very much for your constructive comments on our manuscript ‘An Accurate Jacobian Matrix with Exact Zoeppritz For Elastic Moduli of Dry Rock’, applsci-630002. We have made point-to-point revisions to your comments. You can find all changes we made in the revised manuscript.

The following is a list of responses to your questions and comments.

Point 1: The work is well written and deals to an interesting problem in an inversion procedure. The analysis is sound and the numerical examples well documented. The weak point is in the very short discussion (just 6 lines). The results presented deserve a much more longer discussion which along with the conclusions must give a summary of all the mathematical analysis presented.

Responses: Thank you very much for your constructive comments. We added more discussions and conclusions. You can find the changes in the revised manuscript on page 15.

Point 2: In addition some points with real data analysis will make the case stronger. I suggest a minor revision.

Responses: Thanks for your comment. This paper focuses on numerical analysis of the Jacobian matrix. We are working on the inversion part including selection of the inversion method, model tests and application of real data, which may take over half year. As soon as we complete the inversion part, you will see those studies in another manuscript in the future. I really appreciate you accept our apology that we cannot do the real data analysis at this time. Thanks for your understanding and consideration.

In addition, we thank you as an anonymous reviewer in the acknowledgement section.

Again, thanks for your suggestions and comments.

If you need any information, please feel free to let me know.

Best wishes.

I am not sure what this paper is about.  If it is about using the Zoeppritz equations for inverting seismic data for elastic rock properties, the authors need to carefully read the very extensive literature on simultaneous impedance inversion and find out how their work contributes to the extensive state-of-the-art.  This work is saturated with equations and figures, most of them without clear meaning.  It is nearly impossible to read and understand.  I recommend that this paper be rejected.

Thank you very much for your comments on our manuscript ‘An Accurate Jacobian Matrix with Exact Zoeppritz For Elastic Moduli of Dry Rock’, applsci-630002. We have made point-to-point revisions to your comments.

Point 1: I am not sure what this paper is about. Responses: Thank you very much for reviewing our manuscript. This paper focuses on numerical analysis of the Jacobian matrix. To carry out a more accurate AVA inversion for the dry rock moduli, an accurate Jacobian matrix has to be derived instead of using the approximations of exact Zoeppritz equations. We are working on the inversion part including selection of the inversion method, model tests and application of real data. As soon as we complete the inversion part, you will see those studies in another manuscript in the future.

Point 2: This work is saturated with equations and figures, most of them without clear meaning. It is nearly impossible to read and understand. I recommend that this paper be rejected.

Responses: Thanks for your comment. In the revised manuscript, we added more details and descriptions to make the derivations easier to understand. You can find all changes in the revised manuscript.

In addition, we thank you as an anonymous reviewer in the acknowledgement section.

Again, thanks for your comments.
