On 16 June 2023, MDPI and the journal Future Pharmacology (ISSN: 2673-9879) organized a webinar Pharmacology and Toxicology of Amphetamine Type Stimulants.
Message from Prof. Dr. João Paulo Capela, the webinar Chair:
Thank you for participating in this webinar Pharmacology and Toxicology of Amphetamine Type Stimulants, which is associated with the journal Future Pharmacology. I would like to thank the MDPI team that made this webinar possible.
Dr. Marco Niello gave a presentation titled “SERT Releasing Agents: Making Use of Enantioselective Pharmacology”. Prof. Dr. Nicola Simola delivered a presentation titled “Influence of the Administration Setting, Age and Sex on the Neuroinflammatory and Neurotoxic Effects of MDMA”. Finally, Prof. Dr. João Paulo Capela presented “Cell Culture and Animal Studies Regarding “Ecstasy”, Amphetamine, and Methylphenidate Toxicity”.
The story of amphetamine-type stimulants had its vicissitudes, and we do not know how this “love and hate” story will endure. Certainly, the future will bring new answers, and we hope this webinar contributed to the knowledge in this field.
Please note that this webinar is associated with a Topic in the Future Pharmacology journal—“Pharmacology and Toxicology of Amphetamine Type Stimulants”. The deadline for submissions is 31 December 2023.
