Zlatko Fras is the Medical Director of the Division of Internal Medicine, University Medical Centre Ljubljana, Slovenia, Professor of Internal Medicine, Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Chairman
of the Nationwide Programme on Primary CVD Prevention, and President of the
Slovenian Society of Cardiology. He was awarded his academic (MD, Ph.D.) degrees
at the Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, and is licensed as a
Specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and Vascular Medicine by the
Medical Chamber of Slovenia. His clinical professional activities encompass
different aspects of cardiovascular medicine, while his scientific work is
oriented mainly towards epidemiology and preventive cardiology, research of atherosclerosis
and disorders of the lipid metabolism, and physiology/pharmacology of fibrinolysis
and physical activity.
