Dr. Gregory C Flaker is a Professor of Medicine at the Center for Precision Medicine and Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Missouri, School of Medicine. His research interests include Anticoagulation, Atrial fibrillation, and Cardiac devices. His areas of expertise are Atrial fibrillation, Cardiac critical care, Cardiology, Chest pain, Heart disease, Heart failure, Hypertension (high blood pressure), Myocardial infarction (heart attack), and Sports medicine. He is a member of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology, the American Heart Association, the American Heart Association Council on Clinical Cardiology, and the Missouri Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.
Prof. Zhenguo Liu is a physician-scientist, Division Director of Cardiovascular Medicine, Professor of Medicine, and Margaret Proctor Mulligan Endowed Professor in Cardiovascular Research at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, MO. His research has been focused primarily on endothelial cells, progenitor cells, and vascular biology, as well as the role of oxidative stress and inflammation in the development and progression of cardiovascular diseases, especially atherosclerosis, and related mechanisms. Currently, his efforts have mainly been directed at investigating the effects of novel cardiovascular risk factors, including air pollution and gut microbes as well as inflammatory bowel diseases, on cardiovascular function, disease development, and mechanisms. His team is also very active in investigating cardiovascular regeneration using adult stem cells and novel biomaterials. In addition, his research includes a variety of clinical research like phase 3 clinical trials, cardiac device studies, and cardiac arrhythmia management.
