Author Biographies

Dr. Stanislav Saas Ksenofontov is a postdoctoral scholar at the ARCTICenter, Department of Geography, University of Northern Iowa, USA. He completed his PhD studies in human geography at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. His research interests include vulnerability of Arctic Indigenous socioecological systems to global change, Russian energy megaprojects, infrastructural violence, Indigenous identities, urbanization, decolonial and Indigenous approaches, among others. Stanislav is a Guest Editor for Arctic Science and Fellowship Coordinator at International Arctic Science Committee.
Andrey N. Petrov is a Professor of Geography, Academic Director of GeoTREE Center, and Director of ARCTI Center, University of Northern Iowa, USA. He received his master’s degree in geography from the University of Northern Iowa and received his Ph.D. in Economic Geog/GIS from the University of Toronto. Ph.D. in spatial demography from the Herzen University. His teaching disciplines include human geography: economic geography, population geography, international/regional development, and Arctic; GIScience: GIS applications, spatial analysis, and modeling.
