Nashiru Billa is a Professor of Drug Delivery at the College of Pharmacy, Qatar University. He obtained his BPharm Degree from the University of Punjab, Pakistan, in 1993. After a brief attachment to the Pharmaceutical Industry, he pursued a PhD in Pharmaceutics, completing it in 2000 at the University of Science Malaysia. In 2001, he joined the International Medical University as a Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery Lecturer. He was involved in the design of the International Medical University Pharmacy curriculum and played a leading role in the planning of the pharmaceutics courses at that university. At the same university, he was appointed Chief Scientist of a Bioequivalence Research Laboratory (Equilab®). He has served as a Consultant to a Pharmaceutical Company and participated in more than 30 bioequivalence studies on generic pharmaceuticals for various local (Malaysia) and international pharmaceutical companies. In 2005, he joined the School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus as an Assistant Professor. In 2007, he was promoted to Associate Professor and in 2015 to Professor. During his 15-year stay at Nottingham University, he led the delivery of several drug-delivery modules. He has held several administrative positions, including Associate Dean for a Research and Knowledge Exchange and Deputy Head of a school. He currently serves as an External Examiner to several Pharmacy Educational Curricula.
