Author Biographies

Ioannis Paraskevaidis received his Ph.D. from Medical School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1990, and he finished his post-graduate studies in (a) Basic Research Cardiology and (b) Intracoronary Ultrasound at Technical University ‘Recht der Isar’, Munich, Germany in 1993. He is currently a Professor of Cardiology-Therapeutics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is affiliated with the 6th Department of Cardiology, Hygeia Hospital, Athens, Greece.
Alexandros Briasoulis, MD, Ph.D., FACC, FESC, is a Cardiologist specializing in Advanced Heart Failure, Transplantation, Cardio-Oncology and Pulmonary Hypertension. He is currently working at the National and Kapodistrian Medical School and Clinical Therapeutics Clinic at Alexandra General Hospital. His research is focused on the exploration of outcomes related to Heart Failure, LVAD implantation and Heart Transplantation, based on analyses of administrative and large clinical databases. Additionally, he has a specific clinical and research focus on cardiac amyloidosis.
Elias Tsougos received his Ph.D. from the University of Athens School of Medicine in 2010. Since 2020, he has been the Director of the ST Cardiology Clinic HYGEIA Hospital. Since 2015, he has been an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the School of Medicine, European University of Cyprus. His research interests mainly focus on the treatment of heart failure, familial dyslipidemia, and cardio-oncology.
