Senthil Krishnamurthy received his B.Eng and M.Eng degrees in power systems from Annamalai University, India, in 2006 and 2008, respectively, and a Doctorate of Technology degree in electrical engineering from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), Cape Town, South Africa, in 2013. He has been working as a Senior Lecturer in the department of electrical, electronic and computer engineering at CPUT since 2013. He heads the cluster of Power Systems and is Deputy Leader of the Centre for Substation Automation and Energy Management Systems (CSAEMS), supported by the National Research Foundation (NRF). He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the Institute of Engineers in India (IEI) and the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE). He has received several industrial grants, including the ESKOM TESP and EPPEI projects. His research interests include power systems, protective relaying systems, substation automation, renewable energy, energy management systems and parallel computing.
