Author Biographies

Dr. Dajiang Wang currently works as an associate researcher/professor at the Research Center of Fruits Germplasm, Research Institute of Pomology of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Xingcheng, China. He earned a Ph.D. at the College of Agriculture, Shihezi University, Shihezi, China, in 2023 and a master’s degree in 2011. He is a deputy director of the Liaoning Scientific Observation and Experiment Station of Crop Gene Resources and Germplasm Creation, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. He mainly engaged in the research of apple germplasm resources and rootstocks, focusing on the identification and evaluation of functional substances, such as apple resources polyphenols and aroma substances, and the mining of apple aroma-related regulatory genes, identification and screening of salt-tolerant and cold-tolerant germplasm of apple resources, mining of resistance genes and molecular marker development of apple resources, creation and application of anti-dwarfing new germplasm of apple rootstock, the influence of apple rootstock on scion and related molecular mechanisms, and functional analysis of apple non-coding RNA.

Dr. Yuan Gao currently works as a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China, Beijing, China. She is also a member of the Communist Party of China. She is the deputy director of the Fruit Germplasm Resources Research Center of the Institute of Fruit Research, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and a director of the Chinese Horticultural Society. She has been engaged in research on fruit tree germplasm resources for a long time. Her main research directions include the collection and preservation of apple germplasm resources, identification and evaluation of phenotypes and genotypes, research on the relationship between genetic diversity and genetic evolution, analysis of the genetic basis of important traits, research on germplasm innovation, excavation, and utilization. She has made certain achievements in the collection and preservation of apple germplasm resources, phenotypic and genotypic identification and evaluation, and research on genetic diversity and genetic evolution relationships. Her research interests include plant genetic resources, genetic diversity, origin, domestication, and revolution, molecular biology, and plant genomics.
Dr. Kun Wang currently works as a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Xingcheng, China. He is the leader of the apple resources research group of the Fruit Research Institute, a head of the National Fruit Germplasm Apple Nursery, and a deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Horticultural Crop Germplasm Resources Utilization of the Ministry of Agriculture. He has been engaged in research work related to apple germplasm resources for a long time. His main research directions include research on apple resource collection and preservation technology; research on apple resource identification and evaluation technology; and research on innovation and utilization of apple resource germplasm. He has made certain achievements in the collection, preservation, identification, evaluation, and utilization of apple germplasm resources.
