Prof. Isabel Rocha is an expert specialising in human physiology, particularly in the areas of the autonomic nervous system and cardiovascular function. Her research interests are wide-ranging and include the regulation of the urinary bladder, the control of respiration and the physiology of extreme conditions. She has also worked in areas such as biological signal processing and biomedical engineering and is interested in medical education and the strategic management of organisations. She has an extensive list of publications, has scientifically supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses and has been instrumental in obtaining funding from various sources to support research activities. She has held notable academic positions, including course directorships and leadership positions at the Faculty of Medicine in Lisbon, reflecting her commitment to education and cutting-edge research. Isabel Rocha has also been recognised for her management skills, having served in administrative roles such as Vice-Rector of the University of Lisbon and as a member of the Scientific Council of the Lisbon School of Medicine and head of its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Office.
Marta González-García currently works at the Department of Human Physiology and Physical-Sports Education, University of Malaga. She does research in Neurology and Neuroscience. Her Skills and Expertise include Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, Electrophysiology, Neuropharmacology, Respiratory Control, Cardiorespiratory Control, and Autonomic Nervous System.
Prof. Marc Stefan Dawid-Milner received his Ph.D. from the University of Navarra. He is a Specialist in the Autonomic Nervous System. He is now the professor of human physiology and director of the Department of Human Physiology, Human Histology, Pathology, and Physical and Sports Education at the University of Malaga. He is also the Director of the Unit of Neurophysiology of the Autonomic Nervous System of the Medical-Health Research Center (Centro de Investigaciones Médico Sanitarias-CIMES-) of the University of Málaga and the President of the Spanish Society of Autonomic Nervous System (SESNA) and member of the Board of the European Federation of Autonomic Nervous System (EFAS). He is Teaching Human Physiology to first and second-year medical students, Neurophysiological Basis of Human Behaviour to third-year medical students, and Neurophysiology of the Autonomic Nervous System to fifth-year medical students in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Malaga. He is the Director of the Ph.D. Program "Neuroscience and its Clinical Applications". His research includes two areas of the neurophysiology of the autonomic nervous system: (1) Basic research on central cardiorespiratory control and (2) Clinical application research on the development of new technologies for the assessment of autonomic nervous system function.
Prof. Manuel Víctor López-González received his Ph.D. from the University of Málaga. Now, he is a Specialist in the Autonomic Nervous System and the Associate Professor of Human Physiology in the Department of Human Physiology, Human Histology, Pathology and Physical and Sports Education at the University of Malaga. He is also a member of the Unit of Neurophysiology of the Autonomic Nervous System of the Medical-Health Research Center (Centro de Investigaciones Médico Sanitarias-CIMES-) of the University of Málaga, the Founder member and member of the Spanish Society of Autonomic Nervous System (SESNA) and the Member of the Spanish Society of Neurosciences (SENC). His field of research is Neurophysiology of the Autonomic Nervous System at the level of Basic research in central cardio-respiratory control.
