Dr. Ming-Hu Han is a Chair Professor and Department Head of the Department of Mental Health and Public Health, Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. He completed his Ph.D. training in Neurobiology at the Shanghai Institute of Physiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai (1999). Dr. Han received the Young Investigator Award of the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD), the Rising Star Translational Research Award of the Johnson & Johnson and International Mental Health Research Organization (IMHRO), Dr. Harold and Golden Lamport Research Award for Excellence in Basic Science Research Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and the NAMI-New York State Excellence in Research Award. He has published over 90 papers, including over 20 publications in Cell, Science, Nature, Nature Neuroscience, and Nature Communications, and serves as a Fellow for the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP), as well as for The International College of Neuropsychopharmacology. Dr. Han is interested in the neurophysiological mechanisms of affective disorders and drug addiction, especially the individual variations in response to stress and alcohol use.
