Dr. Anwar Baban is a Clinical Expert and Coordinator of Cardiogenetic Center, Bambino Gesù Children Hospital & Research Institute, IRCCS, 00165 Rome, Italy. She is a consultant in clinical genetics and genomics with specific expertise in cardiogenetics. Her major fields of interests are recognition of rare (isolated and syndromic conditions) especially related to cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease, genetically determined arrhythmias, arthropathies, and other rare conditions.
Dr. Adelaide Fusco graduated from Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli in medicine and surgery in 2011 and completed a specialization in cardiology at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” in 2018. She began work as a medical doctor at the Department of Cardiology, Monaldi Hospital in August 2020. Her skills and expertise mainly include cardiovascular genetics, pediatric echocardiography, rare diseases, cardiomyopathies, electrocardiography, echocardiography, congenital abnormalities, doppler echocardiography, cardiac hypertrophy, and chronic heart failure.
Dr. Maria Cristina Digilio is Head of the Chromosomal Pathologies and Dysmorphology Research Unit and Head of the High Specialization in Dysmorphology at the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital & Research Institute, IRCCS, Rome, Italy. She obtained a degree in medicine and surgery from the Sapienza University of Rome. She is a member of the Società italiana di Genetica umana (SIGU), Società italiana di Pediatria (SIP), Società italiana Malattie genetiche pediatriche (SIMGePeD), and other associations. Her research interests include arteries, neurofibromatosis type 1, pulmonary valve stenosis, non-truncating mutations, and noonan syndrome.
Dr. Giuseppe Limongelli completed his Cardiology Training (2001) at the Second University of Naples (SUN). In 2001, he won a four-year PhD course in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Sciences and Associated Biotechnology (SUN). From 2002 to 2003, he was attached to St George’s Hospital Medical School (London, UK) as a Research Fellow of The Genotyping Lab & Heart Failure Clinic. From 2003 to 2004, he was attached to The University College of London (London, UK) as a Research Fellow of The Cobbold Lab (Middlesex Hospital) & Heart Failure Clinic (The Heart Hospital). In 2003, he started a European Doctorate in Biotechnology course (HeduBT, UK), with a project on the clinical and molecular aspects of cardiomyopathies. He was appointed with the title of European doctor in biotechnology in 2007. He is currently an Associate Professor of Cardiology (since November 2017) at the Department of Cardiothoracic Sciences, Monaldi Hospital (AORN Colli); Honorary Senior Lecturer (since May 2017) at the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, University College of London, London, UK; and a Regional Coordinator of Rare Disease in Campania, Italy (since February 2018). His main research interests are clinical and genetic mechanisms of cardiomyopathies, congenital/inherited/rare diseases, heart failure, and athlete’s heart.
