Fábio G. Teixeira received his Ph.D. in Health Sciences from the Medical School of the University of Minho in 2015. He is currently an FCT-CEEC Assistant Researcher at i3S Laboratory and the Team leader of a collaborative research line in 'Experimental Neurodegeneration Biology' between the i3S and the Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research (TBIO), Health School of Porto Polytechnic Institute. Moreover, he is also an invited adjunct professor at the Health School of the same institute. He has received several distinctions, including the 'Mantero Belard Neuroscience Prize', Portugal's most important prize in neurodegenerative diseases research. He has published more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals with an h-index of 24 (Scopus, April 2024). Their research topics include regenerative medicine, neuron-glia communication, focused ultrasound, microbiota, disease-modifying strategies, and Parkinson's disease.
