Francisco Medina-Paz holds a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Plant Biotechnology from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute, and is currently a Post Doctoral Research Associate at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He served as a Bioinformatician Specialist at Biofábrica Siglo XXI S.A. DE C.V. (2020–2022) and an Adjunct
Professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey (2020–2023), prior to joining the New Jersey Institute of Technology. As a postdoctoral fellow, he has been working on forensic and biomedical science projects mainly related to postmortem interval estimation, body fluid identification, and DNA phenotyping, translating ideas and techniques from one study field to another.
