Author Biographies

Ali Ahmed Mohamed received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and his Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology from the University of Florida in 2020 with a distinction in honors. He completed his Master of Science in Entrepreneurship at the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida in 2021, where he was recognized as a Social Impact and Sustainability Impact Scholar in business as a leader and changemaker. As a component of this distinction, he was awarded the Assembly for Action Grant for the development of a sustainable vaccine infrastructure for underprivileged members of the Gainesville community in collaboration with the Equal Access Clinic Network. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine and his Master of Science in Data Science and Analytics at the College of Engineering and Computer Science, both at Florida Atlantic University. His primary research focuses are in neurological surgery and neuroscience. His unique research goals are multidisciplinary, converging the disciplines of medicine, computer science, and engineering.
Thomas Caussat is currently pursuing his MD at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL, USA. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Utah Valley University. His research interests are primarily in neurology, psychiatry, and neuro-ophthalmology.

Phillip Mitchell Johansen has been a neurosurgery resident at the University of South Florida since 2023. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with Magna Cum Laude from the University of Utah in 2019. Upon graduation, he completed his medical education at Florida Atlantic University, where he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 2023 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
