Emerzon Torres received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Bulacan State University, Bulacan, the Philippines, in 2015. He earned his M.S. in Civil Engineering, majoring in Geotechnical Engineering, from De La Salle University, Manila, in 2020 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering at the same university. From May 2016 to February 2019, he worked as a Highway Design Engineer at Arcadis-GEC, Manila. In 2020, he joined the GEMMMS Project, spearheaded by the DLSU Gokongwei College of Engineering Geotechnical Engineering Division and funded by the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development, as a Science Research Specialist II, a position he held for two years. Emerzon was an SM scholar during his undergraduate studies. He is a full-time scholar under the DOST-ERDT program, which supported him throughout his M.S. and continues to support him during his Ph.D. studies. His primary research interests include civil and geotechnical engineering, soil liquefaction, constitutive modeling, GIS, machine learning, data mining, data analysis and disaster risk reduction.
