Juana Abenojar received a degree in chemistry from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1990 and a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) in 2003. Having worked as an assistant professor at a university school and assistant doctor in the Science and Engineering Department and the Chemical Engineering Department at UC3M (from 2001 to 2010), from 2011 to the present, she has been working as a researcher in charge of carrying out projects in the same department at UC3M. Additionally, she has been an associate professor at Universidad Pontificia Comillas since 2017. Her work focuses on surface treatments and adhesion, adhesives, and composites. As a researcher, she has participated in 35 R&D projects funded in public calls, both national and international, along with 22 R&D contracts of special relevance with companies and/or administrations. She has published 105 articles in JCR journals, five book chapters, and 38 non-JCR articles, accumulating 3943 citations and an h-index of 39. Furthermore, she has participated in 176 international conferences and 120 national ones, serving on various international scientific committees. She has co-supervised seven doctoral theses, five master's projects, and 48 final degree projects. Additionally, she has been collaborating with CESOL (Spanish Association of Welding and Joining Technologies) in the European Adhesive courses for Bonder, Specialists, and Engineers since 2013.
Sara López de Armentia is currently an associate professor at the Institute for Research in the Technology/Mechanical Engineering Department, Comillas Pontifical University, Madrid, Spain. She received a master’s degree from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and obtained a Ph.D. degree in engineering systems modelling from Comillas Pontifical University. She has been employed at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid since 2015, where she worked as a research support technician (2015–2017) and then as a Ph.D. student and lab teacher of materials science (2018–2019). Her research is focused on the development of polymeric scaffolds for bone regeneration reinforced with carbon-based nanomaterials and produced by additive manufacturing.
