Ms. Zahraa A. Hamza is
currently a Ph.D. student in Materials Engineering at the University of Technology -Iraq. She
obtained her Master's degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Basrah, Iraq, in 2014. She
earned her First Degree in Materials Engineering in 2010 at the University of Basrah- Iraq. She also
working as a QA/QC engineer at South Refineries Company, Iraq, from 2015 until now.
She was a lecturer at the University of Basrah,
Materials Engineering Department for eight years. She has local and international paper publications. Her areas of interest are heat treatments for ferrous and
non-ferrous metals, ceramics, and dielectric materials, corrosion in oil and gas
plants, and zinc-rich coatings.
Dr. Murtadha Abbas Jabbar received his B.Sc. degree and M.Sc. degree,
respectively, in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering,
University of Basrah, Basrah, Iraq. He made the experiment part of his
Ph.D. dissertation at the University of Iowa, Iowa, USA, as a
visiting scholar in 2009. He was awarded his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Basrah in 2010. He is an assistant
professor of engineering materials, advanced materials, and engineering
metallurgy at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, Basrah, Iraq,
with about 21 years of experience in teaching. His area of expertise is
Heat Treatments, Corrosion and Corrosion Protection, Mechanical Behavior of Materials, Smart Materials, Nanomaterials, and Failure Analysis. He has several publications
to his credit, some of them in Scopus and Clarivate-indexed journals.
He worked as a supervisor, materials inspector, and consulting engineer
for several projects in the southern region of Iraq.
