Prof. Dr. Jian-Gang Guo obtained a master's degree in solid
mechanics from Taiyuan University of Technology in 2000–2003 and a doctor's
degree in solid mechanics from the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese
Academy of Sciences in 2003–2007. From December 2011 to December 2012, he was a
visiting scholar at the School of Engineering at Brown University in the United
States. From July 2017 to the present, he has served as a professor and
doctoral/master's supervisor in the Department of Mechanics at Tianjin University.
He won the National Natural Science Second Prize in 2014. He is a member of the
Micro-Nano Mechanics Working Group of the Chinese Society of Mechanics. His research focuses on
micro/nanomechanics, surface/interface mechanics, mechanical characterization
of advanced materials, and composite material mechanics.
