Author Biographies

Tatiana Teixeira is currently a researcher at the INEGI and works in the area of occupational health. She completed her Master's in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Engineering in July 2020 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, and obtained a Degree in Environmental Health in July 2018 from the School of Health (ESS), Polytechnic of Porto, Portugal. She attended the Doctoral Program in Occupational Safety and Health at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, in 2020.
Liliana Almeida holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health from the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ESS|P.Porto). Her main areas of expertise include public, environmental, and occupational Health, encompassing the identification, analysis, assessment, prevention, and control of environmental risk factors impacting health. Currently, she is pursuing a Master's degree in Microbiology at the University of Aveiro (UA). Her main research interests include the domains of environmental sustainability and microbiology. She is also a member of the research team in Blue Biotechnology, Environment, and Health (BBEH) at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research of the University of Porto, Portugal (CIIMAR|UP), within which she is involved in the BactoCell project.
Prof. Dr. Isabel Dias is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (Department of Sociology). She is a researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (IS-UP). She obtained her PhD in Sociology from the University of Porto in 2003 with a thesis on domestic and gender violence. She specializes in the sociology of the family and gender, women's work and occupational health, and the sociology of aging, with an interest in the abuse and vulnerability of older people. She has published books and several journal articles on gender inequality and domestic and gender-based violence.
Prof. Dr. João Santos Baptista is an Associate Professor at the Mining Department, Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, where he obtained his PhD. He is also a Director of the Master's Program in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Engineering (2005-2019), a Vice-Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Doctoral Program in Occupational Safety and Health of the University of Porto, a Member of the Scientific Committee of the Doctoral Program in Mining and Geo-Resources Engineering, Degree Program in Mining and Geo-Environmental Engineering, and Master's Program in Mining and Geo-Environmental Engineering.
Prof. Dr. Joana Santos is a Professor in Environmental Health at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto School of Health, where she obtained her BSc. She obtained her PhD in Occupational Health and Safety and her MSc in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto. Her research interests include human factors and ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, occupational health and safety, occupational hygiene, the human-centered design industry, the impact of digitalization and emerging technologies on health, work-related musculoskeletal disorders, and fatigue and burnout.
Prof. Mário A P Vaz is an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Porto. He is also a member of Labiomep’s Direction Board, a president of the Portuguese Society of Biomechanics’ Assembly, a coordinator of LOME, Laboratory of Optics and Applied Mechanics of INEGI, and a member of LAETA, Associated Laboratory of Energy, Transport and Aeronautics. His research interests include 3D reconstruction, computer vision, image processing, musculoskeletal disorders, mechanics, and ergonomics.
Dr. J. C. Guedes is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University, a contracted researcher at the Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, and an Integrated Member of the Associated Energy Transport and Aeronautics Laboratory. She completed her PhD in Occupational Health and Safety in 2011 at the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University, her MSc in Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2010 at the same institution, and her Bachelor's in Instrumentation and Metrology Engineering in 2007 at Porto Higher Institute of Engineering (ISEP). Her main works are in ergonomics and human factors engineering. The most frequent terms in her scientific and technological output are ergonomic assessment, thermal environment, occupational health, skin temperature, thermal comfort, thermal sensation vote, occupational risks, and other topics in human factors engineering.
