Prof. Ying Jie Zhang is a second-level professor at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Energy Engineering, Kunming University of Science and Technology. From 1980 to 1987, she studied at the Department of Applied Chemistry of Harbin Institute of Technology and obtained a master's degree in applied electrochemistry in 1987. In 1987, she began to teach at the Department of Chemistry of Kunming University of Science and Technology. In 1999, she obtained a doctorate in nonferrous metallurgy from Kunming University of Science and Technology. In 1999, she was promoted to professor by exception. From 1997 to 1998, she was a visiting scholar at the Corrosion and Protection Center of the University of Manchester Institute of Technology (UMIST), UK. In addition, she was appointed as an expert in the evaluation of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the Technological Invention Award, a member of the Council of the International Academy of Electrochemical Energy Sciences (IAOEES), the Vice President of the Nonferrous Metals Society, and the Executive Director of the Solid State Ion Branch of the Chinese Silicate Society. Many of her scientific and technological achievements, such as the clean production technology of zinc–iron–silicon composite electroplating, the key preparation technology and application of high-performance multi-oxide electrode materials, and the technology of the metal surface micro–nano-modification of new energy materials, have been industrialized.
Prof. Qi Meng is a lecturer at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Energy Engineering, Kunming University of Science and Technology. He studied for his undergraduate degree in the Department of Mineral Processing, School of Chemical Engineering, Shandong University of Science and Technology, from September 2008 to June 2012, and obtained his bachelor's degree. From September 2012 to June 2015, he studied for his master's degree in the Department of Mineral Processing, School of Land Resources Engineering, Kunming University of Science and Technology, and obtained his doctorate. From September 2015 to June 2018, he studied for his doctorate in the Department of Metallurgy, School of Metallurgy and Energy Engineering, Kunming University of Science and Technology, and obtained his doctorate. During this period, he received the Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship and other awards. He has been working at the School of Metallurgy and Energy Engineering, Kunming University of Science and Technology, since September 2018. He also works in the National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Lithium-ion Batteries and Materials Preparation Technology and the Yunnan Provincial Key Laboratory of Advanced Battery Materials. His main research direction is the preparation and recycling of lithium battery materials.
Prof. Peng Dong is a professor at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Energy Engineering, at Kunming University of Science and Technology. He received his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from Kunming University of Science and Technology in 2003, 2007, and 2011, respectively. He has been working at Kunming University of Science and Technology since 2011. He was promoted to professor in 2019 and was selected as a doctoral supervisor in the same year. He is also a member of the Young Chemists Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, a member of the Expert Committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, and a National Natural Science Foundation Correspondence Review Expert. His main research direction is the preparation of lithium battery materials and the recycling and reuse of waste lithium-ion batteries. He has published more than 70 papers in mainstream journals in professional fields such as Electrochimica Acta, Journal of Power Sources, Journal of Cleaner Production, Waste Management, etc. He is a corresponding reviewer for international journals such as Electrochimica Acta, Journal of Power Sources, Journal of the Electrochemical Society, etc.
