Ji Zhang received a B.Sc. degree in biology, an M.Sc. degree in botany, and a Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Northwest Normal University. From March 1993 to April 1994, he was a Visiting Scholar at Suntory Pharmaceutical Research Center in Japan. He is currently
working at the New Rural Development Research Institute of Northwest Normal University in Lanzhou, China. His research interests mainly focus on the development of northwestern-characteristic plant resources and deep processing of agricultural and sideline products.
