He is an Associate Professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Dr. Russell is also Associate Chair and Director of Undergraduate Programs for the Department of Biological Sciences. His core interest is how organisms navigate and persist (or go extinct) on complex, real-world landscapes, especially those highly fragmented due to human activities. Dr. Russell's research interests include Spatiotemporal Population Dynamics, Movement Ecology, Statistical Methods for Conservation, and Automated Monitoring Tools.
Benjamin P. Thomas received his BS in Computational Science from the University of Grenoble in 2005. From Lyon 1 University, he earned a BS (2010) and a PhD in Physics (2013). He then did his post-doc at the NOAA CREST laboratory at the New York City College. Dr. Thomas is now an Associate Professor of physics at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has been teaching Physics courses to both undergraduate and graduate students. His research interests focus on applied optics, laser spectroscopy, and remote sensing.
