Dr. Mehdi Abdolmaleki is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Civil and Mineral Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada. He received his PhD in Mining Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran, in 2018. Prior to his current position, he worked as a researcher in the Department of Civil, Mining, and Environmental Engineering at LuleƄ University of Technology, Sweden, until December 2021. Dr. Abdolmaleki has a strong academic background in mining engineering, specializing in mineral exploration through remote sensing satellite data. His research focuses on understanding and modeling land surface processes, parameterizing these processes in potential mapping, and monitoring the environmental impacts of land activities. Additionally, he is keenly interested in the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques in Earth science.
Prof. Kamran Esmaeili is a full Professor at the Department of Civil and Mineral Engineering, University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada. He received his B.Sc. in Mining Engineering at the Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, Iran, in 1997, his M.Sc. in Mining Engineering at the University of Tehran, Iran, in 1999 and his Ph.D. in Rock Engineering at the Laval University, Canada, in 2010. His research interests include Mining Engineering, Mining and Geomechanics, and Mine to Mill Process Optimization. His research strives to explore the development of predictive analytics and smart modeling solutions for the mining industry that allow for a better mining design and continuous mining process control and optimization.
