Dr. Jackie Sydnor is an associate professor at the Department of Elementary Education, Ball State University. She received her B.Sc. in elementary education, her M.Sc. in language education in 2009, and a Ph.D. in literacy, culture, and language education in 2013, all from Indiana University. She was the program chair of the American Educational Research Association’s Lives of Teachers Special Interest Group (2019–2021) and a member of the American Education Research Association’s Lives of Teachers Special Interest Group, Michael Huberman Award Committee (2020–2021). She was also an active reviewer for many journals such as Teacher Education Quarterly, The Teacher Educator, New Educator, etc. Additionally, she was awarded the Teachers College Outstanding Service Award, Ball State University, 2019–2020. Her research and teaching focus on supporting aspiring teachers’ professional identity development and reflective practice through the use of digital storytelling and video annotation.
Dr. Tammi R. Davis is an associate professor of elementary education at the School of Teaching, Learning and Developmental Sciences, Missouri State University. She completed her doctorate in literacy, culture, and language education with a minor in teacher education from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 2014. She has been a teacher educator for over 10 years, has led and directed literacy professional development for teachers for 5 years, and has taught for over 20 years in elementary schools and middle schools in Indiana and Florida. She continues to develop school partnerships with aspiring teachers and work with local schools. Her research and teaching are intertwined with a focus on improving undergraduate teacher preparation, understanding and celebrating the lives of teachers, and promoting culturally responsive pedagogies in both areas.
Dr. Sharon Daley is an associate clinical professor of curriculum and instruction at the School of Education at Indiana University Bloomington. She completed her doctorate in curriculum and instruction at Purdue University in 2009. She has been a teacher educator for 13 years, teaching undergraduate and graduate students. She taught for 20 years in elementary schools in Indiana. Her research and teaching are closely linked with a focus on improving undergraduate teacher preparation and understanding the lives of teachers.
