Dr. Zhiyan Zhang received an M.S. degree in Animal Genetic Breeding and Reproduction from Jiangxi Agricultural University in 2008 and a Ph.D. degree in Quantitative Genetics from the University of Liege in 2013. Currently, he is an associate researcher at the College of Animal Science and Technology, Jiangxi Agricultural University. From 2018 to 2021, he led the regional project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China: the systematic resolution of temporal-specific, breed-specific, and tissue-specific methylated porcine genes using high-coverage methylation sequencing. He is mainly engaged in the QTL localization and fine-tuning of complex economic and disease resistance traits in domestic pigs, genome-wide association analysis algorithms, and applications of linear mixed models based on haplotypes, as well as the use of existing high-density genotypes as a reference population to infer all genotypes of low-density genotypes, and its use in association analysis and genomic selection breeding.
