Shyam S. Pandey received his PhD from the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, India in 1997. He worked as a Fukuoka IST-sponsored post-doctoral fellow at the Kyushu Institute of Technology from 1998-2001. He was a JSPS post-doctoral fellow from 2001-2003 (Soft Actuators and Artificial Muscles) and a Knowledge Cluster invited researcher from 2003-2007 (Protein Biochips). He worked at the Kyushu Institute of Technology as an Assistant Professor from 2009-2012 and an Associate Professor from 2012-2021. Currently, he is a Professor at the Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering, Kyushu Institute of Technology, since 2022. His research interests include Dye-Sensitized and Organic Solar Cells, Quantum Chemical Calculations, Organic Electronics and Optoelectronics, Organic Conducting Polymers, Sensors/Biosensors, and Protein Biochips.
Dr. Tamaki Kato is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biological Functions Engineering, Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Kitakyushu, Japan. Dr. Kato earned a Ph.D. in Science at Kyushu University in 1994. Dr. Kato was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Materials and Biotechnology, Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan from 1991 to 1995 and a post-doctoral fellow at the National Institute of Biotechnology, Canada from 1996 to 1998. Dr. Kato’s research interests and areas include bio-organic science, nanotechnology, materials, chemistry, and the chemical methodology of biomolecules.
