Author Biographies

Paula Morales Almeida is a social educator and psychopedagogue. She holds a PhD in Education, specializing in the use of ICT in adults. She has taught courses in Social Education, Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and various official master's programs. She has numerous international publications and currently serves as the secretary of the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work. Her research interests include population well-being, social and educational inclusion, families, and the eradication of socio-educational inequalities.
Dr. Marta Brás is an invited assistant professor at the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve. She completed her PhD studies in Psychology at the University of Algarve. Furthermore, She is a member of the Research Center in Psychology (UAL/UALG). She recently investigated the vulnerability towards suicidal behaviors, the efficacy of prevention strategies, and the experiences of relatives of young adults who committed self-destructive acts or suicide attempts. Her interests and expertise include Mental Illness, Psychoeducation, Clinical Health Psychology, Psychology of Adolescence, and Suicide.
Prof. Cristina Nunes is a Professor at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, University of Algarve, University. She completed her PhD studies in Psychology at the University of Seville, and She coordinates the management unit of the University of Algarve at the Psychology Research Center (CIP). She has published 123 papers in various journals, 26 sections of books, and four books. Her teaching disciplines include Health Promotion; Clinical Psychology; Pediatrics; Health Psychology; Developmental Psychology; Education Psychology, and her interests include Positive Parenting, Family Context Assessment, and Family and Child Well-Being.
Dr. Cátia Martins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of the Algarve. She completed her PhD studies in Psychology at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, University of the Algarve. She collaborated in research on families at psychosocial risk with implications for practice in the European Union. She has published 26 papers in various journals, 15 in indexed journals, nine book chapters, and four co-authored books, and serves as a Member of the Research Unit of the Center for Research in Psychology (CIP) of the Autonomous University of Lisbon. Her interests include Parenting Interventions, Families, Well-Being, Motivation, Volunteering, and Learning.
