Dr. Xavier Hesselbach is an Associate Professor in the Department of Network Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). He received his M.S. degree with honors in Telecommunications Engineering in 1994, followed by a Ph.D. degree, also with honors, in 1999, both from UPC. In 1993, Dr. Hesselbach joined the Design, Modelling, and Evaluation of Broadband Networks (BAMPLA) group within the Network Engineering Department at UPC. With a notable H-index of 21, he has contributed extensively to the academic community, participating in the technical program committees of over 50 conferences. He has also served as a guest editor for several high-impact journals. His research focuses on network virtualization, resource management, SDN networks, quality of service, green networking, and nano-networks.
