Dr. Gary Wilkerson is a tenured professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he has taught in the Graduate Athletic Training Education Program since 1999. He has received the Designation of National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Fellow. He was inducted into the NATA Hall of Fame in 2016 and awarded the NATA Foundation Medal for Distinguished Research in 2019. His research is focused on methods for clinical identification of subtle perceptual–motor performance deficiencies that elevate the risk for concussion and musculoskeletal injury.

Prof. Lynette M. Carlson is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Education Coordinator at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has been a Certified Athletic Trainer since 2000, working in a variety of practice settings, from clubs and high schools to the WNBA. Her passion for education led her to Midwestern University, where she earned a Doctorate in Health Sciences in 2015. Her clinical practice focuses on Active Release Techniques®, prevention, and concussion management. She also has a special interest in pre-hospital emergency medicine.
