Roshan Sharma received an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal in 2013, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University, MS, USA in 2021. He is currently a Senior Engineer in the Smart Grid Emerging Technology team with the Commonwealth Edison Company, Chicago, IL, USA. He has been actively involved in activities related to modeling, control, and testing of utility-operated microgrids, DERs integration, DER management, and Synchrophasor Technology projects. His research interests include modeling and control of distributed and renewable energy resources, microgrids, and power system dynamics, modeling and control.
Masoud Karimi-Ghartemani received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, in 2004. Since 2012, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mississippi State University (MSU), MS, USA, where he is currently a Professor. From 2005 to 2008, he was a Faculty Member with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. From 2008 to 2011, he was a member of the ePOWER Laboratory, Queen's University, Kingston, ON, Canada. His research interests include modeling and control of distributed and renewable energy systems. Dr. Karimi-Ghartemani was the recipient of the 2020 Faculty Research Award at MSU's Bagley College of Engineering. He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, and IEEE PES Letters.
Umar Iqbal (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Queen’s University in 2012. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Illinois State University. Dr. Umar Iqbal has worked in the areas of multi-sensor integration, navigation systems, robotics, control, and Measurement While Drilling (MWD) for industry and academia. Before joining Illinois State University, he was a Clinical Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Bagley College of Engineering,
Mississippi State University. He also served at the University of Ottawa, Queen’s University, and the Royal Military College of Canada. Dr. Umar Iqbal has designed, updated, and taught several electrical engineering, engineering design, and technological innovations courses. He has received several prestigious awards, scholarships, and grants, which include the Industrial Research and Development Fellowship (IRDF) from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and the R&D Associates Fellowship from Alberta Innovates—Technology Futures. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering (CJECE) and as a Guest Editor of the Special Issue of the Sensors Journal. He is also a senior member of the IEEE 2012 and a Professional Engineer.
