Dr. Rohan Bir Singh is an Ocular/Corneal Immunology Fellow pursuing clinical and basic science research, MD MSc MPH, Claes H. Dohlman Chair of Ophthalmology, at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Department of Ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School. He is also pursuing his Ph.D. in ocular immunology. His research focuses on the prevalence and pathogenesis of ocular graft-versus-host-disease in patients after bone marrow transplantation, factors modulating immunopathogenesis of acute and chronic dry eye disease, and epidemiology of corneal disorders in the United States. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in top ophthalmology journals including the Ocular Surface, Ophthalmology, and American Journal of Ophthalmology, and presented his basic science as well as clinical research at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, the Harvard Biennial Cornea Conference, American Society of Retina Specialists Annual Meeting, Cornea Society, and New England Ophthalmological Society. He has held several leadership positions including the Vice-Chair of Harvard Medical Postdoc Association, considered to be the largest body of postdoctoral fellows in the United States. He was selected for the ARVO Science Communication Training Fellowship, class of 2020–2021.

Prof. Dr. Antonino Maniaci is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine and Surgery, Kore University of Enna, Enna, Italy, and a Doctorate Student and Research Assistant at the Department of Medical, Surgical Sciences and Advanced Technologies G.F. Ingrassia, University of Catania, Catania, Italy. His research topics mainly include OSAS, otolaryngology, ENT, rhinology, salivary gland, Laryngology, and otolaryngology—head and neck surgery.
Salvatore Lavalle has been a fixed-term researcher at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Kore University of Enna since October 2023. He holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Messina with marks 110/110 cum (2017), got the qualification to practice the profession of Doctor-Surgeon at the University of Messina (2018), and specialized in Radiodiagnostics with marks 70/70 cum laude at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (2022). From December 2022 to October 2023, he served as a radiologist at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. His scientific interests are uroradiology, emergency/urgent imaging, musculoskeletal radiology, and radiology oncology.
Dr. Fabiana D’Esposito is a specialist in the study and management of inherited eye diseases, including diagnosis, phenotype–genotype correlations, and molecular characterisation. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, Visiting Professor at the University of Naples (Italy) "Federico II", and Honorary Lecturer at Kore University of Enna (Italy). Dr. D’Esposito earned her medical degree Summa cum Laude and completed her training in Ophthalmology (Summa cum Laude) at the University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy. She completed her PhD at the Institute of Ophthalmology, Department of Molecular Genetics (UCL), London, UK, and served as a Post-doctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Molecular Genetics, School of Medicine, Imperial College, London, UK. She has also held positions as the Coordinator of the Ophthalmic Genetics Section at CEINGE-Advanced Biotechnologies Institute, Naples (qualification by the Italian Ministry of Research and University as “Expert Researcher”) and Visiting Professor at the Training School in Ophthalmology at the University of Salerno, Italy. Dr. D’Esposito is a Faculty Member of the European School of Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology (ESASO), Board Member of the Italian Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (SIOPS), and on the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Ophthalmology.
Prof. Dr. Caterina Gagliano is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Kore University of Enna, and Medical Director (Eye Clinic) at the University Hospital Policlinico Vittorio Emanuele Catania. She earned, from the University of Catania, Catania, Italy, a Specialization in Ophthalmology (1990) and a PhD in Ocular Pharmacology (1994). Her research interests include Cornea, Glaucoma, Nutraceuticals, Ophthalmology, Pharmacology, Retina, Medical and Health Sciences, and Dry Eye Disease.
Dr. Marco Zeppieri obtained a degree in biology from the University of Toronto, his medical degree from the University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy, and his specialization in ophthalmology from the University of Udine in 2007. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Udine. He also completed a post-doctoral glaucoma research fellowship at Discoveries in Sight, Devers Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon, USA. He obtained his national qualifications as a second-level university professor in 2018. Since January 2008, he has worked as an ophthalmologist at the Department of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Udine, Italy. He has won several awards and grants. His scientific interests include new techniques for the morphological and functional diagnosis of ocular hypertension and glaucoma, the use of stem cells for corneal wound lesions, ocular surface and lid diagnostics and treatments, and community-based screening procedures. He has participated as an invited speaker at numerous national and international ophthalmology conferences. He is a reviewer for numerous international peer-reviewed journals and the author of over 200 book chapters and indexed scientific publications in international scientific journals. He has played an active role in MDPI, serving as Guest Editor for 3 Special Issues, Reviewer Board member, and Topical Advisory Panel Member for several MDPI journals.
