Morgan Shepherd received her BS in Environmental Science and Management from the University of California, Davis in 2020, and is now pursuing a PhD in Advanced Energy Systems at the Colorado School of Mines. Prior to this, she worked at the California Energy Commission as a Load Flexibility Specialist and Advisor to Commissioner McAllister.  Her research topics mainly include demand flexibility, demand response, and power systems.

Salman Mohagheghi received his PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA, in Electrical Engineering in 2006. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department at Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, USA. Prior to that, he was a Senior R&D Engineer at the ABB Corporate Research Center, Raleigh, NC, USA. His research focuses on the intersection of energy, environment, and society.
