Dr. Yong Wang is a Professor and doctoral supervisor at Southwest Petroleum University China. He received a PhD at the Chengdu University of Technology from 2014 to 2017. He went to the University Of Regina as a Senior Visiting Scholar from May to August 2018. He is a member of the research and innovation team of the "Changjiang Scholars and Innovation Team Development Program" of the Ministry of Education, an expert in the evaluation of the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education, a communication evaluation expert for the "National Foreign Expert Project" of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and serves as the deputy editor in chief of Frontiers in Earth Science. His research areas include the theory and applications of scientific and engineering computing; probability theory, mathematical statistics, and big data statistics theory and its applications; artificial intelligence theories and applications such as machine learning, deep learning, and statistical learning; and optimization theory and its applications. He has led and researched over 10 national and provincial-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation, National Science and Technology Major Projects, and Sichuan Outstanding Youth Fund. He has also led and researched nearly 20 horizontal projects for enterprises.
