Author Biographies

Wang Zongrun is a doctoral supervisor, specially appointed professor of "Sublimation Scholar" at Central South University, selected for the Chinese Ministry of Education's New Century Excellent Talents Support Program (2011), responsible for major and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a key member of the Basic Science Center project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has a long-term commitment to research on risk management techniques and methods in the field of data analysis and management science, with a particular focus on resilient cities, risk measurement, integration, and decision making theories and methods. He hosted the National Natural Science Foundation of China major project "Risk Prevention and Management Decision making in Resilient Cities Supported by Intelligent Technology". He is currently serving as an executive director of the Society of Management Science and Engineering, a director of the Chinese Society of Systems Engineering, and a member of the editorial board of the Chinese Association for Modernization of Management. He has published two books, two textbooks, and over 90 papers. He received the second prize of the 8th Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education of China (2019), the second prize of the Natural Science Award of Hunan Province, China (2017, 2015), and the 12th Excellent Social Science Academic Work Award of Hunan Province, China.
YiYun Tan graduated with a bachelor's degree in Transportation Engineering from the Central South University of Forestry and Technology and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Management Science and Engineering at the School of Business of Central South University. His main research areas include resilient cities, urban research, urban risk, climate risk, urban resources, etc.
Xin Lu received a PhD degree from the Department of Public Health Sciences at Karolinska Institutet in 2013. He is currently a Professor at the National University of Defense Technology in Changsha, China, and the Co-Founder of the Flowminder Foundation, which is focused on the analysis of big data and providing them for free to organizations and relief agencies. His research interests include big data analytics, human behavior, complex networks, emergency management, public health, and other related subjects. Dr. Lu was awarded by the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars.
