Happyness Ngonyani is a Tanzanian environmentalist, researcher, and advocate for sustainable development, currently pursuing her PhD at Bayero University in Nigeria under the Centre for Dryland Agriculture. She is the founder and executive director of a local nongovernmental organization in Tanzania called Girls Education for Climate Action (GECA) and is a PASET-RSIF scholar. She specializes in natural resource management and climate change, focusing on community-centred solutions in transboundary waters. With nine years of experience in the water and environmental conservation sectors (including climate change), she has authored two scientific publications on water resource management.
Dr. K.A. Mourad obtained his PhD in Water Resources Engineering from Lund University, Sweden, in 2012. He is a highly skilled international professional with 15 years of experience conducting impactful research, providing consulting services, and delivering capacity-building courses in hydrological modelling, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), water resource management, environmental sustainability, and climate change. Dr. Mourad has collaborated with various institutions and organizations, including Lund University, the Pan African University, VTI Sweden, Baxter Sweden, UN-Habitat Yemen, France Expertise Syria, UNDP Somalia, SIWI, and COWATER Libya.
Ronny Berndtsson is a professor in water resources engineering at Lund University, Sweden, and currently works as deputy director for a national strategic research area at the Centre for Advanced Middle Eastern Studies. His expertise is surface-groundwater systems, water, nutrient, and pollution transport in agricultural systems, and effects of climate change. Presently he is coordinating two major European Union projects: the Horizon 2023 FarmWise project (Future Agricultural Resource Management and Water Innovations for a Sustainable Europe) and the SmartWater4Future (Coupled Urban-Rural Water Infrastructure Management under Hydroclimatic Extremes with Decision Support System). He has published extensively on water resources and sustainable development including climate change and safe access to water.
