Lucia Falcigno has been an Associate Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry (SSD Chim03) since 2005 and she currently works at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Naples “Federico II”. She graduated in Chemistry with full marks in 1991 at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Naples “Federico II”. In 1995, she earned a PhD degree in Chemical Sciences. In the same year, she became a PhD Research Associate of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Naples “Federico II”. In 1996, she was granted a postdoctoral fellowship at the Marion Merrell Dow Research Institute (Strasbourg, France), Department of Biophysical Sciences – NMR Labs, under the supervision of Dr. Vladimir Saudek. She is member of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) – Biological Section, the Italian Discussion Group of Magnetic Resonances (GIDRM), the Italian Society of Peptides (ItPS), and the Inter-Department Centre of Research on Bioactive Peptides (CIRPEB). Her research activity is in the field of structural biology, focusing on the structural, dynamic, and interaction properties of peptides and proteins (ERC sectors: LS1_10, LS2_10). The structural analysis is performed in solution by means of nuclear magnetic spectroscopy (NMR) techniques, with the support of computational methods, advanced prediction techniques, docking simulations, and molecular dynamics.
