Dr. Christina Chrysochoou graduated from the Medical School at Patras University in January 1993. From 1994 to 1995, she pursued training in internal medicine at St. Anargyroi Oncological Hospital in Athens, Greece. In 2000, she completed her cardiology training at the 1st Cardiology Clinic of the University of Athens and later earned her doctorate, focusing on the echocardiographic evaluation of left ventricular diastolic function.
Since May 2006, Dr. Chrysochoou has been serving as a cardiologist (registrar) at the 1st Cardiology Clinic of the University of Athens. She plays a key role in the Heart Failure Unit, the Echocardiography Unit, and the Epidemiology Unit. Her research focuses on heart failure clinical epidemiology, including the Hellenic Heart Failure Study, new-onset heart failure after acute coronary syndrome, and the IKARIA study on longevity.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Chrysochoou is actively involved in medical education, teaching cardiology to students at the University of Athens Medical School and Harokopio University's Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is also a sought-after speaker, having delivered numerous lectures in her field of expertise.
Dr. Chrysochoou has contributed to various European projects, including the EuroHeart Surveys, AIRGENE, and Heart Failure Rehabilitation.
