David Llena was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1970. He received a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from the University of Granada in 2003. Since 1994, he has been a member of the Area of Topology and Geometry at the Department of Mathematics, University of Almería, Spain. His research interests encompass numerical semigroups, coding theory and nonunique factorizations in algebra. Moreover, Dr. Llena is a member of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society (RSME).
