Prof. Dr. David Macarthur is a Professor in the Discipline of Philosophy at the University of Sydney. He completed his PhD studies in Philosophy at Harvard University in 1999. He taught at Tufts University (1999–2000), before taking up a post-doctoral research fellowship at Macquarie University (2000–2003). He has been a member of the Philosophy Department at the University of Sydney since 2003. His research interests include liberal naturalism, skepticism, metaphysical quietism, pragmatism, common sense, perception, ordinary language, and philosophy of art, especially concerning architecture, photography, and film.
